The Invention is a feature length show attraction with a talented cast of characters. It is comprised of a series of conjoined show sets containing various theatrical and entertainment elements which support the story. This includes various premium components such as spectacular facades, mechanisms, lighting, audio, video, props, show elements and special effects similar to those used commonly in theme parks, Broadway plays and other premium entertainment venues. The cast and crew weave a story and reveal the plot during nearly two hour long journey into a plot which is full of tomfoolery and parody, yet is breathtaking, stirring and revealing as the show invokes almost every human emotion imaginable.
Oh yes, this is a premium entertainment experience and quite a new way of presenting a story. You will have the time of your life.
The entertainment effect is achieved by utilizing and linking core show and special effects components similar to those in a modern day theme park attraction but with the added use of talented actors and an ironic, satirical and sometimes serious plot. It's sort of a mix between a Broadway play, a theme park and a role-playing particpant in the genre of a Tony and Tina's wedding. An overall “in the movies” effect is achieved. The show scene modules are linked together to form a continuous sequence of live action entertainment experiences. Guests are transitioned immediately from one show segment into the next to build the experience with additional story elements as the plot is exposed in a most unique fashion. There are hidden passages, secret plans, a pursuit, rewards, a cast of characters too outragious to be believed, but most of all there is high jinks as the ironic interrelationships unfold amidst jaw-dropping show effects.
The original attraction concept on which the project invention was conceived by Michael Strong and Michael Escher as co-inventors in the late 1990s. This concept is the result of combining and applying various technologies, designs, know-how and characteristics which together form a unique entertainment show product. The Invention relies upon unique application of various technologies, architectural strategies, human factors, guest flow sequences, and manipulations in order to achieve a premium entertainment show yet maintain a viable and profitable financial business model.
Breaking the Barriers between Theatre, Movies and Theme Parks
The following
rough sketches show the overall concept of a completely enclosed and
continuous adventure which lasts nearly two full hours.
How Modular Set Space Translates into Interior Layout
The design utilizes a number of
"standard" modular areas which hold the facades, effects, props and
show elements. And although the outward box-like shells to house
each show sequence, the interiors are quite diverse depending upon the
scene concept. The working space for the show designer can
be configured in the same manner as any theme-park show or ride.
